Si è conclusa la terza giornata di campionato in Inghilterra con il Manchester City già in testa alla classifica con 9 punti, a punteggio pieno grazie anche al successo ottenuto sul campo dello Sheffield United, subito dietro un trio tutto londinese con Arsenal, Tottenham e West Ham, con le ultime due vittoriose rispettivamente contro Bournemouth e Brighton, mentre i Gunners si sono dovuti fermare in casa contro il Fulham (2-2). Vittoria importantissima per il Liverpool sul campo del Newcastle per 1-2. Passa anche il Manchester United in casa contro il Nottingham Forest 3-2 il risultato finale.
